I initially came to try Pressed, which is two doors down. However, it turns out their smoothies are bottled and not freshly made so they recommended I try Hawa. It is a tiny little shop with a large menu and just a counter for ordering. There is no seating inside. I tried the strawberry, blueberry and banana smoothie and added protein. It came to $8.71 for a large. The smoothie was tasty, but it was a bit sweeter than I was expecting. Still, I was grateful for something fresh to sip and it hit the mark.
Favorite spot for açaí bowls. Very sizable portion. Their peanut butter protein drink is great
Hole in the wall to buy delicious bubble tea from, but no atmosphere to speak of. Grab and go!
This is smoothie heaven per a person that doesn’t really imbibe smoothies. First time had had the mango banana one but my eyes fell on my daughter,s avocado based called avocolada. First back to the Mango banana which I think also had pineapple in it. Was fruity and light…. Very delicious. However when I took a sip of the avocolada, I couldn’t believe how tasty and filling it was. Apparently besides guess what avocados, avocolada also contains spinach. Now if I was told a this at the beginning I probably wouldn’t have even taken a sip. But it seems Hawa has come up with recipe that the imbiber doesn’t taste it alll. Parents take note. Prices were right for nyc. Hope to able to replicate when I get back home. Just a warning for those not knowing that avocados do oxidize a bit rapidly. So despite the excellent sealing that Hawa does, you might find the taste changing a bit after some time. Love to get it again.
