Don Alex - Broad Channel

As I walked in, I was greeted by Cristian with a friendly smile and escorted to my table. The space is lovely and comfortable. The wait staff is efficient and engaging. For lunch, I enjoyed a devineley spiced half roasted chicken with rice and beans. My beverage of choice was an iced Coke until I saw a carafe with a milk shake type beverage. After inquiring about the carafe, I ordered my very own carafe of Maracuya (ice blended passion fruit with milk) which was refreshing and tart. I am so pleased with this recommendation. They add a mandatory 20% tip and they didn’t mention it when they gave us the check. We almost mistakenly tipped again and I think this is such a dishonest business practice that needs to be removed. The food was okay, but it was weirdly expensive and I would not recommend this place.
