The Bakeologists - Brisbane

The above says it all. Good bread, good pies but lousy service bordering on rudeness. Pity because the baker tries really hard.

Stumbled upon this patisserie last weekend after a nice lazy drive through the beautiful Newfarm area.Ordered a blackberry danish twist (forgot what its called) a croissant for my lovely best friend and a soy chai to share....it was a a little too sweet for me but perfect for my friend and the soy chai was quite nice.Another nice and friendly open bar - like seating place where you can seat peering onto passers-by and quite handy having a bus stop directly outside. A great chilled out place for a catch up or a quick coffee run!

Best toasted sandwiches - New Yorker is lovely and the chicken... and they are big sandwiches - very filling. Have tried a vegetarian "sausage" roll which had very nice combination of vegetables. Their sweets are also fantastic, shortbread amazing and the girls from my work love the ginger cookies!!

I was trying pies for the first time and I was staying in New Farm so I came here. It was terrible. The filling was like fused with gelatin, the flavors were lacking, the pastry was soggy. I was not impressed but I was told after that they are not a very god place to go to begin with so....i guess i learned why. The insides were seriously like eating baby food. I had the chili con carne, beef, cheese, bacon and the veggie....i was doing research...i atea third of each one and they were all really gross. I have faith AUS makes good pies...just wouldn't recommend going here. But, you're choice.

This place is more of a bakery than cafe, the style is really laid back, super tidy and not packed out with seating. I've not eaten in before, but have stopped to pick up one of their pane sandwiches on three occasions. All three times they were totally delicious. The New Yorker is my favourite, a perfect combination of pickle, corned beef, Dijon mayo and Swiss cheese, but the vego and old English are also worth a try if you're in need of some delicious eats on the run. They have pies too (next on my list) and lots of freshly baked breads and sweet treats to keep everyone satisfied.
