Disgusting. We sadly had to throw it in the bin after trying a bit of everything we had ordered. We got it delivered by UberEats on valentine's day for dinner instead of the offered 24hr room service where we were staying (big mistake). I was excited to receive 6 oysters Kilpatrick, salt and pepper squid with chips, whiting with chips and a pineapple fritter. It was very reasonably priced. Unfortunately this did nothing to combat how truly awful the food was. The oysters Kilpatrick had a pungent fishy smell that honestly made me gag. Squid wasn't even fully cooked. Everything deep fried was super soggy and greasy. Oil must've been old as the batter had a very dark colour. Salad smelt off, the tomato was mushy despite not being cooked. The pineapple fritter was only just edible with the batter scraped off. Both of us felt quite ill afterwards and we almost went without dinner due to being so turned off by this food that was so bad surely it was on purpose. Please don't risk going here.

DO NOT ORDER!!! Ordered on Menulog, it arrived over 1 hour late (2 hours since ordering in total) and SOGGY, oily, disgusting food that we fed our dogs (plus shoved unceremoniously in the bin). Please don't do it to yourself; you're better than this.
Opening up underneath the apartments in the Gabba, Red Emperor acts like the local fish and chippy, and the only one in about two kilometers if what they say is to be believed. Well, I had a WWE pay-per-view to catch up on (Payback) and attempting not to buck tradition went and got some delivery from it. For something a bit different, I thought some fish and chips could sound good - Red Emperor it was. Not again, it was far below average. Service might have taken a while to get there, however in the end it was efficient enough and did its job. The guy was friendly enough, and a freebie was scored out of it all. I've seen far worse with delivery, I have seen better but doing its job is good enough. With its menu, well this is fish and chips. It has a range of seafood meals, which are battered seafoods that are served with a side of fries, or some fresher ones which are grilled. Burgers and salads are also available, as are fresh oysters. A bonus is they have some sweets in their menu, which are the usual fritters (pineapple and banana) and a few kinds of chocolate bars deep fried. The main dish that I got, possibly the darling of fish and chippys around the country, was the fisherman's basket. How could I resist with getting a bit of everything? This baby contained four fish cocktails, three prawn cutlets, three calamari rings, 3 pieces of salt and pepper calamari, two potato scallops and a whole lot of fries. That plus the usual sides of lemon and tartare sauce. To fit the minimum amount required for delivery, I also got a order of whiting. Also, same reason but also that I will admit that each time I have ordered it and like it, I also got an order of deep fried Mars bar. This ain't Scotland either, so it is not like it will be common - grab it while you can. What sounded like it should have been such a feast (albeit with ****** all nutritional value) turned out to be one of the biggest disappointment in some time. Getting what did work first, the Mars bars were good. These are best eaten fresh, as that is what makes them so characteristic. The caramel was sticky, the chocolate delicious and almost liquid, plus the batter was a bit thinner than it normally is. Also, the potato scallops weren't too bad either - they were potato scallops, where there only a few ways to describe them. The potatoes were thinly sliced, the batter here was not so and a bit thin, plus heaps of salt made it taste good. That was the highlight of the meal. There is not that much in depth to explain why it not so good. Most of it was because the texture of the fish was all wrong, there was not much seasoning amongst all the seafood which made it taste the same (even with salt and pepper calamari was not so good), and it tasted like they needed to replace the oil soon, or at least have it a fair bit hotter. Not even the fries were much good, and I can eat some underwhelming fries if I so have to. Even more disappointing, I asked for them to be chicken salted and beer battered; those two independently improve fries a lot. It all just became a bit indistinguishable and bland, and was luke warm by the time of arrival. The dog didn't seem to mind the food though. Well, if most of the food went to the dog instead, that should sum it up. I would chalk it up to maybe not getting anything deep fried delivered (I can recollect some examples otherwise), and in retrospect definitely not fries. None of it felt right, from the texture of the seafood being cooked - was it frozen then defrosted before being cooked? - right down to the batter, though I have had worse batter in memory. Aside from perhaps the Mars bars, which were decent but not enough to be called a saving grace, none of this really did anything for me.
