Izakaya Kotobuki - Brisbane

Hands down the best sushi in Brisbane, always fresh and tasty. Love! Can never wait to go back! Quick service and perfect dishes. High chair available.

We found this trendy little Japanese Restaurant while wandering around Brisbane and noticed that it was filled with Japanese people. I think it's always a good sign if you see people from that culture flocking to eat there! We tried the gyoza (dumplings) ($7.00 per plate) which were excellent and the tempura prawns with rice (called Ten don) ( for $10.00) and the chicken curry and rice (at $8.50), all of which were fantastic! The restaurant is very similar in decor to fashionable restaurants you'd actually find in Japan and the staff here are all very nice and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended, would definitely eat here again!

Spoilt for choice in this area in Brisbane but decided on this restaurant after viewing the menu.Very efficient service, fairly extensive menu and good atmosphere. The use of a tablet to order drinks and meals was welcomed and it enables you to keep track of your order and bill.Minimal wait time for the food and the portion sizes were good.Great food with authentic tastes and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Expected a cheap and cheerful dinner and got that in spades. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, even while busy. Orders are made from a tablet using intuitive custom software, making it relaxed, taking away any waitstaff mistakes, and letting you choose your pace. Dishes were served very quickly. Many dishes can be as little as ~$4, for example 4x maki or two nigiri. Flavours were deliciously interesting, very high standard of cooking. Tuna in particular was buttery and clearly very fresh. Fed four for $100 including two jugs of sake so extremely reasonable for central city. Cannot recommend this enough.

If you want incredible fresh Japanese cuisine for an honest price, then search no further! Portions started from just a few dollars so you can simply pick and choose what you feel like. When seated you are given a tablet with the menu so you can place your order yourself that goes straight to the kitchen. Nice atmosphere and décor, buzzing without having to wait long for your meal. You will not be disappointed!
