Staff are friendly and attentive. Food was great, plentiful and reasonably priced. There is...a good selection of local wines. Not bad at all, we’ll be back!
Typical local non gastro pub The emphasis is on gaming rather than food or wine quality Sampled a local shiraz before calling it a night.
This is the "Chop Suey" I was served up at The Star.I cannot explain the repulsiveness of a couple of vegetables, large chunks of chicken swimming in what seemed to be milk. This is nothing like what it should have been.Never go back, very embarassing taking visitors there on the Queens Birthday weekend.
The meals where satisfactory and the waiting staff where very nice and efficient but the waiting between mains and sweets was far too long, they ask me to phone our individual orders in by 2.00 p.m. so that our meal would run smoothly and to be there early. We did as asked and received our mains quite quickly but then had to wait at least an hour for our sweets, they said that they had to serve everyone else in the hotel with thier mains before they could serve our sweets which where selected from a choice of three, which where pre-ordered with the mains, we might as well gone in an hour later and not had to sit in the very cold reception room for so long.
We went here on our first night out in bright and it was and both got a Parma. I got the star Parma with BBQ sauce, bacon and homemade onion rings. This is not a meal for the faint hearted. If you hate to waste food make sure you build an appetite before ordering this meal. There is more thank one area to eat and if your into sports you can sit by the fire and watch away. The bar staff were prompt, but showed little enthusiasm. For me this did not ruin my experience and I will be back.
