Solmar - Bridgeport

The tavern has transformed into a Portuguese restaurant, and I highly recommend it. When we arrived, the owner greeted us warmly! We ordered the paella, which was fantastic. Two members of our party had Portuguese steaks, and we also tried a pork dish. All of it is a must-try!

I had a fantastic experience at Solmar! The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Everything we ordered was delicious, and I truly had a wonderful time. I highly recommend giving it a try!

They serve outstanding seafood dishes and daily specials! If you have a chance, be sure to reach out to the owner, Manny. He has been in this business for 36 years and truly excels at it! The cuisine is authentically Portuguese. Come by for coffee, a drink, or a lovely dinner! There’s an outdoor terrace for enjoying beautiful evenings and a cozy dining room for cooler nights.

In the hollow of Bridgeport one can find this restaurant. For those from the old neighborhood can identify the building as the old Oakview Tavern. Oh my has it changed!! The tavern is now a restaurant serving Portuguese food and I would highly recommend it. Food was delicious and tasty.

Born and raised in Newark, NJ I was hoping for decent food. I must say this place surpassed my expectations, the food, sangria and service were amazing! Will visit again.
