Smittys - Brenham

A must for breakfast in Brenham! The location does not do justice to this place, but it is worth the short trip west. Great service, food and atmosphere. We will definitely come back!

When I first to town everyone talked about it so I had to try it. Honestly they so take their time but for the following reasons, food never comes out cold, everything is made from scratch, and it is a popular hole in the wall that in my opinion, a hidden gem everyone should try. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with or without taking anyone its a must.

Smittys has good food for a good price. The only thing that makes me reconsider eating here is the service. Most of the time there is only one older lady acting as server. Sometimes she is quick and sometimes not although she is friendly. I just don’t like coming in to a place and waiting 10 minutes for someone to realize I’m there meanwhile other (larger) groups come in and have there orders taken immediately. Also slow on the checkout (10-15 minutes after meal on average). Sorry Smittys I like your food but I have stuff to do!

Don’t judge it by the outside because it doesn’t look like much, but the inside is wonderful and the food is impeccable!!

I found this place while searching for coffee shops, but it's definitely more of a café/restaurant than a quick grab-and-go coffee spot. Breakfast was a bit pricey, and some items seemed to come from pre-packaged sources (like the cookies and the gravy on the toast). Still, I’m giving it 4 stars because the service was excellent. The desserts looked delicious, and the atmosphere was charming. It seems like it might be even better in the evening, as they offer a nice selection of beers.
