フィードバックを提供するThe pork buns ($4), chicken buns ($4), and BBQ pork buns ($3.30) have inconsistent quality during each visit. There tends to be too much flour in the outer layer compared to the meat. The buns are at their best when they come fresh out of the steamer; otherwise, they can taste slightly cold, dry, and hard. Unfortunately, it's unpredictable when the buns will be fresh, so the quality varies with each visit.
You definitely have to try their Banh Baos! When I was a kid, my mom worked on the west side and would always bring home a few Banh Baos from this place. Now that I live just a couple of streets away, I go there quite often. I've always been a huge fan of their BBQ Baos and the large pork Bao. Growing up, I also loved their egg custard. Their quality has remained consistent over the years, although the prices have changed a bit. You can sometimes find their products in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store, and they supply Wonderbao as well.
Tak Hing specializes in Asian-style buns that can be enjoyed hot or cold. The buns are light and moist, always offering a great filling-to-bun ratio. We tried the egg custard, taro, red bean, BBQ pork, and Chinese sausage, and they were all absolutely delicious!
Hidden Gem!. What an amazing find! The exterior of the shop certainly doesn 't look like it sells such tasty buns! In many places, you find buns (Chinese bao with very little fillings inside the bun, but not this place. Authentic taste, soft buns, very tasty fillings. The best baos I have tasted in Melbourne. Highly recommended!!
I have been told their Chicken Bun is awesome, but I haven't ate here yet. Will update soon!
