Frigideiras Do Cantinho - Braga

Came here late at night and was served an almost vegan version of a traditional meal that is not on the menu. Loved it. The restaurant dates to 1792, though not in the same family. The current family has operated the restaurant 60 years. It's a long time either way. They are doing something right. My meal was tasty and the waitress spoke perfect English.

Very nice place at the city centre of Braga for a quick bite. The food options are tasty and relatively cheap, the staff and facilities alright.

Our first impression was very good and we were given a menu ok.........and then completely ignored for 15 minutes. Three workers wre just standing behind the counter. The place was not busy. The one guy we think was the waiter completely disappeared. Saw another lady being ignored too. We walked out. Oh well, guess at least on this day that the staff did not like well dressed respectful white Americans. Other experiences we had in Portugal with locals were excellent so this was a unique experience on our trip

This is the oldest restaurant in Braga, founded in 1796. There is a big choice of different pastries. I tried Frigideira which is meat pie their specialty, original recipe, interesting flavour, but quite greasy. As I don 't know Portuguese, it was difficult to choose a pastry, as there were no descriptions.
