The Fifth Amendment - Bountiful

As my friend said look around.. this is the local seedy spot they feature on Forensic Files where the chick hangs out before she goes home alone to her dumpy apartment and then is found dead two days later when she doesn 't show up to work at Dairy Queen. OHH YES, this is a dive bar but its spectacular! Legit. Like i want one in my town. Dark bar with tons of space, pool tables and a few game machines, i saw a poker game going late on Tuesday night, friendly as hell bartenders and drinks are cheap! The chips and salsa we got to go with our beers was also pennies and so good even for a simple mini bar app. We hit up this place twice while on our trip b/c we loved it so much. Oh and also b/c it was across from the hotel :P

Seedy and sordid just about sums up the management (Drunk Brad and operations of this bar. Shame to see a supposedly once thriving spot turn into a dumpster. Clueless staff. Rude bartenders (esp Alyssa? .. drunk owner. Poor service, cold food. Kind of place you have be drunk to eat at. Brad is as clueless disengaged useless as an employee can be. Totally shamed his father's legacy screwed his daughter's future. Took a free reno., but kept Inconsistent food drink. Definition of a dive bar.

Great service. I hadn't been there for 30 years. I Still the same friendly atmosphere. Bar has been around since the 50's.

Dive bar is right..... and not even a good one..... I could expand more, but I like to stay as positive as I can.... Let's just say that the place could be much better than the way it is currently operated. I recommend heading down the street and give The Downunder club a shot. At least the 5-8pm crowed is fun and have no ego....

A bar makeover does not make up for a hostile bar tender. Sadly, our friend was very excited to visit the fifth after the bar make over that recently occurred, Unfortunately, the female bar tender was hostile, rude, and truly let us know that she had no interest in encouraging our patronage. And we are nice people. Not only was our friend very apologetic that she chose to try the fifth (it wasn't her fault that we were treated so poorly) We all vowed not to ever go back. In fairness, there was a male bartender that served us the first round of drinks and his attitude and customer service was very good. This review makes me really sad to write. My girlfriends and I were going to a play at Centerpoint theater and we always go out for a bite to eat and a drink before the play. We decided to go the the fifth to see the bar remodel. The remodel was nice, we liked the trolley theme. However, there wasn't enough staff to be able to wait on the tables; truly folks there were not that many people in the bar. After waiting about 10 minutes; Trying to be helpful, we went to the bar to place our order. The female bar tender told us that we would have to wait another 10 minutes to place our order because they was a shift change going on. Our response was that we were ordering food and really needed to get our order in so that the kitchen could start the preparation. The grumpy bar tender reluctantly agreed to take our order. We sat and we waited-and waited-and waited. Eventually our drink order came out; a table next to us got up, and went and got cocktail napkins as apparently they were not something the bar tender brings to the table. Nice new tables-and drink rings all over the top. Then some food was brought out. It wasn't ours. And confusion was shared by all as the poor person didn't have a clue where the food belonged, But we were assured that eventually our food would be delivered. Drinks finished , anxiously looking at our watches, we had arrived a hour and a half before our show was going to start but now we were getting worried. Finally, our food was delivered by again the very unpleasant bar tender. We weren't asked if we wanted another round and as a result of the hostile bar tender, we were hesitant to go back to the bar to ask for another round. The food wasn't great, but they tried. The bar tender did come back to clear the table and drop off our check. when we stated we needed separate checks; she became really angry and rude. While we left our tip, it was done grudgingly. Don't bother or go to the down under across the street.
