However, I prefer the short crater on the stone pizzerias floor served in this facility. I realized that all that had eaten this dish left great swamps of this teigs behind. my wife chose salade nicoise for her main course and it was fed in a small bowl so high that we need to ask for a second teller so that she could pack the mountain. sactual food served was good, but presentation was terrible. the same could be said for my boeuf carpaccio, the plate was 100% covered by arugula, shaved parmesan and radishes completely hidden with the cold pieces meat. almost rather good, but failed with the presentation
We were surprised when we went to the open-air café by a member of the bar staff call us “Vous avez une résérvation?” we replied that we did it and we were led without shadowing on the only table. only about a third of the tables were occupied at that time. it was a very hot day. we asked if shadows could be made available. No! we ordered drinks and got menus. No one came to take our order, so after 20 minutes I asked a waiter. the salate of my wife was very good, but my pizza was soggy. I have ordered a beer that has never arrived. I ordered a whisper, but it never happened again, so we had to call another waiter. I'm not sure. when we were booked, we were asked if it was a special occasion and we confirmed it was our high-time day. our experience 2 years ago was excellent. it is a great location and her wee and beer excellent. this time was a disappointment and the indifference of the personal ruined the occasion.
An absolutely beautiful spot at one of our favourite beaches the service is shocking though. Hoped to get seated for lunch but told by the frosty front of house girl that they were full, asked if we could get some food to take away, we’re told...there is only crisps. Opted to sit in the (empty lounge area for a drink, scanned the QR code to be shown a menu listing food available in the lounge (but not available? . Nobody came to serve us so ended up having to go to the bar. Great wine and we did get our very expensive crisps but quite disappointing given they’re the only place to get food or drink on that beach. TIP: to avoid paying for the parking, there is a free car park at the next beach along to the west, Plage de l'Argentière, which is a 10 minute (if that walk along the beach.
Firstly a confession. If you regard Brexit as a squalid disaster, as I do, maybe you should avoid dining out at a place owned by rich, avid Brexiters. But Cafe Leoube, a short drive away, is a fabulous location, a simple but beautiful outdoor restaurant...within the vast estate (an important Varois vineyard, and offering its own gorgeous beach. The menu is extremely limited and grossly overpriced. We shared the garlic cream cheese and truffle pizza as a starter and each had a single course afterwards two ceviche starters, one beef carpaccio main and a child’s menu. We had a bottle of the house rose excellent and a lemonade, one coffee and one dessert. It was all adequate, the service attentive and friendly. The bill came to 169 euros, not outrageous for four if everyone has a set menu or main course but seriously excessive for what we ordered. But then maybe, as a Remoaner, I just couldn’t get over the guilty feelings about lining Leaver pockets
Disappointing food and amateur service, order given for dorade fish at €10 per 100grms filleted. Order arrived un filleted on a cold plate, vegetables ardente but so hard and stringy as to be uneatable and also cold. Fish charged at 400 grams which even when...alive with a mouthful of water could not have weighed more than 250 grams.
