The menu description was enticing indeed- Fresh Maine lobster, mussels, shrimp, spaghetti, roasted corn, tomato, saffron sauce . We ordered each Greek salads, which were not on the menu, which in itself was odd. The salads never came, instead, two small plates of lobster pasta came out and the waitperson apologized that the salads did not come out first. Having to listen to the so-called live entertainment and his grating falsetto didn 't help matters. So how was that lobster pasta? In a word, disastrous. The saffron broth was non-existent, thus the dish had no flavor at all. And the lobster? Little pieces that would not even be enough to occupy a lobster roll, let alone this very pricey dish. To add insult to injury, the mussels were grossly undercooked, the excuse for that was the kitchen was busy. Yet less than half the tables were occupied. So we had a blueberry pie a la mode- it tased Okay but the crust was gummy. And the glasses of wine featured stingy pours in small glasses. The price for this grossly underwhelming meal was what we would pay in a real fine dining establishment. I do not recommend this restaurant. I would not wish this awful dining experience on anyone.
Had a late lunch here. It is right on the water. The view is great. The food was fresh and plentiful. The hummus and baba ghanoush were expertly prepared. All the food was good. It had most of the typical Mediterranean foods. It was a nice change from lobster for a meal.
Ate lunch here on a Monday seated on their outdoor deck. Nice atmosphere being directly on the water for sure but the food was just ehhhh but still quite pricey for what you got. Our server was less than thrilled to be there and seemed annoyed to be dealing with us. Spoon salad was okay but the portion for the price was shocking. I added chicken which came on the side as a piece of sliced chicken that was FAR over cooked and no sauce to help it's case. The lamb wrap was disappointing . The crab cake sandwich was great so said my 14 year old. The hamburger was ehhh. The upgraded side of fries however were FANTASTIC. Overall this place was a miss. Would not bother going here when we visit Boothbay Harbor again.
Resturant was recommended by a local. We had a 7PM reservation and were seated early. Nice drinks and very friendly staff. Unfortunately the owners had split a bit ago and the sushi was upstairs now which was the draw for part of our party. The Surf and turf was advertised as a ribeye which it was not it was a sirloin sliced. One steak was done correctly (well done) the medium steak was also well done. Quinoa and scallops had cold quinoa but scallops were nice. I had mussels and the stuffed avocado both were adequate. They need to adjust the online menus and improve the kitchen coordination. With so many other possibilities in town probably not going back. Three stars for 4.5 service but Two for food.
This is probably the best restaurant in Booth Bay Harbor. I know the concept sounds strange, and normally I'd never give a place with such a varied menu a go, but this one is really well done. Basically they have two kinds of food: sushi rolls and Mediterranean dishes. We started off with a couple of salads and the lamacun (if you haven't had this, you must get it. Picture it as a pizza without cheese but lots of yummy spiced meat that been minced up super small. both of my daughters love it, and Taka does a great job with it. . Then we did a bunch of rolls. The rolls are great. Definitely go with the crunchy spicy tuna rolls and one of the red/yellow/black dragon roll. Others are good too, the rainbow roll was really varied. THESE ARE BIG ROLLS!!! The sushi chef is really talented and hard working. I would definitely recommend the sushi. I would note that I'm normally a sushi snob and wouldn't even hazard trying sushi at a place that has a varied menu, but this is really well done. Drinks are fantastic. The Mediterranean Breeze is really delicious if you like lots of refreshing stuff in your drink. This is cucumber infused vodka with muddled mint and cucumber and fresh lemon and lime juice. Staff are all very friendly, and I met two of the owners/managers, who are very involved with the business. We went by in the early afternoon to check out the place even though we had reservations at dinner. the owner met us and took us to show us the space with the beautiful view of the harbor. Then he asked what table we wanted. Sure enough at 7:15 they were ready right on time with that table. Stop reading this review and go try it yourself!!
