Came here on a sunny afternoon during school holidays. Place was about half full and I was just looking for somewhere to unwind. Waited about 15 mins looking at the menu then headed to the bar. The bar person informs me "ahhh we're actually table service"...this is the first time I was acknowledged the whole time I had been in there. Ordered the sweet potato fries and a margarita. 10 minutes later the fries come out paired with an ~interesting~ coconut aioli. Another 10 mins comes out a tiny $17 margarita that was finished in 2 gulps. While the place has a cool vibe and is playing on the burger gimmick I would not bother again after this experience.
I don't know what it is with the burger scene in Australia, but just about every burger out there comes heavily sauced, ridiculously greasy, or convoluted. Milky Lane was no exception. First off, let me say their classic burger called the "Milky Lane" burger is great! Perfect amount of condiments and you can really appreciate the flavor of the beef and the smokiness from the grill. A good burger is one where after the first bite, you get the juiciness of the beef and you can legit taste everything on and in the burger: crispy bun, gooey cheese, crunchy lettuce, tangy sauce, etc. It's when we get to the crazy burgers where a lot of the disappointment comes. The "Big Poppa" comes loaded with kitchen sink (mac and cheese patty, brisket, bacon, cheese, onion rings, pickles, and every condiment under the sun). The brisket was extremely dry and could you have passed for beef jerky it was that dry :(. Also the burger doesn't need 4 condiments on it! Just stick with maybe BBQ sauce and your house special sauce, not mustard & BBQ sauce & special sauce & tomato relish. The other burger we got (I forget the name, something to do with Kevin Bacon) sounded great but when we got it holy moly! It's drowning in a still running avalanche of BBQ sauce! Why are Aussies charging extra for sauce when you literally have 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce cascading on a burger? All I could taste was BBQ sauce and the severe messiness of it all kind of makes you a little mad. The bacon on the burger was perfect though! Proper CRISPY streaky bacon! :) The Korean fried chicken was also a disappointment. It had nothing to do with Korean fried chicken. Just fried chicken tenders with a dipping sauce that tastes like maybe Gochujang, vinegar, sugar, sesame, etc. Just go to a Korean restaurant for it. All in all, if you decide to eat at Milky Lane, be aware you're going to probably be scraping sauce off of the crazy burgers. I would stick to the Milky Lane Burger and add bacon. Done. You don't need a mouthful of condiments! Also the fried mac and cheese was the best thing on the table. Get 'em! :D

Came here while in Sydney. Very trendy joint with a DJ spinning music and cool artwork on the walls. I got the Big Poppa with an extra piece of fried chicken. This burger was amazing! It oozed of flavour from the succulent wagyu beef, brisket and mac and cheese. Definitely not dry as some other burgers this size may be. Probably one of the best burgers I've had.
