Grünauer - Blue Summit

We lived in Munich for many years and were so happy to find a restaurant in KC that made great food that reminded us of home. The food was really excellent and authentic, the German beer selection was respectable, the atmosphere was great. We are looking forward to our next visit to Grünauers.

We always enjoy going to Grunauer restaurant. We were celebrating my wife for her Birthday and enjoyed the meal and desert. The drinks were very unique and the food and service were fantastic

First time, I've always wanted to try this restaurant. Entrees were good. Did it blow me away? No. I will say they had the best baked Apple streusel with thick, dense, whipped cream that I've ever had. They had lots of good beers too.

Atmosphere and food were ok but the Hostess seemed bored and didn't even greet us when we walked in for our reservation. Then sat us at high traffic area table even though restaurant mostly empty. Grunauer did absolutely nothing to recognize our 51st Anniversary. Set the tone to make us feel “why did we bother to come here”!

We always love a visit to Grünauer when we go to KC. This time happened to be one of the best. Everything we had was amazing, the pork belly melted in your mouth, the saurebraten was the most tender beef imaginable, and the soup special was life changing. I only wish the soup had a name so I could find a recipe for it, but when I asked I was informed it was a “Matthias Special” so I guess we'll just have to come back!!
