We came to lunch on 40c Thursday at the beginning of January. A cool oasis, a beautiful service and friendly staff welcomed us. The menu looked just like our last visit in August 2019, which was perfect for us. Satay beef and spring rolls for duck. Mongolic... Beef, Satay-King prawns, roasted rice (love that they have removed the seafood stick from this) and mixed vegetables. as enough for 2 we brought home to the left. Love the quality of ingredients, the beautiful taste bakings for childhood. Happy with portions and aromas.
Yangtze was a long-term family lover, a place to celebrate childbirth days. Recently, it seems they had a drastic price increase, 20-30% above the board. Mains who were 15 or 16 dollars are now 20. Those who were $20 are now $25.... The menus look new and some things seem to have been removed, and there were the addition of some random other things (e.g. Thai meals) for a strange reason. The service is still good, the wine affordable, the food is still delicious, and the portion sizes are equal (never really big, just enough). The price for rice is now a absurdity. $11 for fried rice or eggplant that is not even close enough for 4 people. What, you need to spend $22 on rice for 4 people???? Alone serve pure rice, $4. These are $16 for small services for 4 people pure rice. It's rice! Not sure we're going back now. There is a better value for money elsewhere. Too bad.
The waiter was rude and unhelpful, and the food was mediocre. The waiter didn't offer much assistance with ordering and seemed unfamiliar with the menu. The Duck dish was tough and hard to chew. However, the Mongolian beef and special fried rice were enjoyable. The vegetable dish and salt and pepper chicken were bland and overcooked. This restaurant used to be better in the past. Our feedback was not well-received. I don't usually write reviews, but sometimes you have to share your disappointment.
The Yangtze is a long standing restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food. Service was friendly and prompt without intruding o the conversation. Classic Chinese meals generous serves.
