My older son's mixed bibimbap was fantastic as well; he nearly finished it by the time I asked for a bite! On my side, I had the jookume, which was refreshing and exactly what I was looking for. The baby octopus was delicious, although I would suggest cooking it for just a bit longer—but I love octopus no matter how it’s prepared, whether raw, pickled, or grilled. My husband was really looking forward to the spicy pork stew, but unfortunately, it was unavailable during our visit. I eagerly await my next trip, hoping to try the dolsot bibimbap or get a sunny-side-up egg on top of my bibimbap. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a solid 4.5 out of 5. Cheers!
I visited this restaurant over winter break and absolutely loved it. I was the only one there, which made for a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, and the staff respected my space, which I really appreciated. The interior had a very chic vibe; I particularly liked the multi-level design and the stylish glass lights. It feels somewhat out of place in Blacksburg, more like a restaurant you'd find in Washington, D.C. However, my Bibimmyeon dish was a bit too salty and not spicy enough for my taste. The prices were reasonable, and I would definitely return. It's really a shame I’m leaving soon because this has quickly become my new favorite spot in Blacksburg.
I was excited to discover a new Korean restaurant, as I'm originally from Korea. I've sampled various dishes, but I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. We all know there are authentic Korean restaurants just a few hours away in Northern Virginia, and I'm concerned that people in this area might think this is what Korean food truly tastes like. My friend tried the donburi, and while it wasn't exactly the same as what we find in Korea, it was still quite good and somewhat reminiscent of the real thing. The servers were very friendly, which was a plus. I would recommend removing the soups from the menu and focusing more on dishes like bibimbap and offering barbecue. The restaurant definitely has potential!
Flavors were okay. we ordered the mix mix bibimbap and the soondubu. the bibimbap was good I felt as if it could use a little more flavored. the soondubu was good, but make sure before they order it is a veggie basic. I was very confused when I saw some of the veggies in him.
Food here is AMAZING! Blacksburg is full of white people who are generally too afraid to eat korean food, but this place is truly delicious! The Hwae bomb is my favorite with fresh fish and crispy fries. I also love the kimbap selection, deep fried one is delicious. The ban chan is also great my favorite being the kimchi and the tofu.
