First time coming here during my visit to Blacksburg! Such a cute place, great ambience, and so many wine options! We got the New World Flight with 2 reds and 1 white wine, and they all tasted amazing! Not too sweet, more on the dry side, very flavorful. I'm not a huge red wine person, but these tastes great! Can't wait to come back!
Always a great time at the wine lab. Great food and always some new options or different take on classics. Tried the Beanie Buddy sandwich and it was awesome. I also like trying the fruit shrubs and other mocktails as they always have some interesting flavor combinations. And finally the ambiance is wonderful. Everyone is so helpful and engaging and really makes it a nice experience.Parking: A few free street parking spots or an adjacent paid parking garage.
Hey, they had me with the name. The Erlenmeyer flasks scattered around were just a bonus. They have a great menu, knowledgeable and reasonably attentive staff, and a pleasant space. And for all of the 'wine ' in the name, some nice beers, both on tap and in the bottle.I was in a hurry, so I ordered the wagyu sandwich without grokking that it was listed as Wagyu Weenie on the menu. I got a $15 hot dog. I suppose even fancy cattle have lips and assholes. That said, it was exactly what it said on the menu, if a little too cleverly described. And it was worth it. The bun was beautiful, the weenie itself looked pretty premium, and the sauce was rather artfully arranged across the top. They were a little light on the house made sauerkraut, but it didn 't ruin the experience. They listed a bunch of great sides on the menu, and I somehow decided to get the house salad, which was just a bunch of greens, with some not too inspired dressing. That was on me.I wish I 'd tried the tinned seafood (clever idea! or the boquerones, or charcuterie instead given how solid the hot dog was, I expect that those are even better. If, like me, you 're hauling ass down I 81, you should note that this place is 10 miles out of your way. And you 'll be stuck paying $2 an hour in a parking garage (they were out of parking validations in the middle of the month when I visited . That said, I 'll happily give 'em another shot next time I 'm driving through.
The best restaurant we found in Blacksburg for adults...not college students. Great selection of wine and awesome dishes and desserts. Went a few times while in town one week.
