Black Bear Tavern - Black Mountain

I’ve eaten there several times and I really like the omelettes and sandwiches are good. The salads are good. The problem is that every time I go it seems like they are trying to get rid of you. They’ll be other people in there eating but they will be bringing you your check and your to go box and looking back-and-forth at you to be sure you’re leaving. I hadn’t been there but about an hour and hadn’t finished my food but they sat at the table next to me and one waiter just kept looking back like are you leaving and I said it says online that closes at two and she said well that’s wrong it’s 130 and I guess it was about 130 then . I just don’t go to any other restaurant and get treated that way and it’s kind of sad because I like the food. Also, they turned up the news so that I was having trouble hearing on the far side of the restaurant and I ask the waiter to turn it down but she said, can you hear it over there because I can’t hear it here. My breakfast was truly amazing. The cheesy potatoes and big bear breakfast was delicious. There were only two ladies working aside from the kitchen staff and to no fault of their own, the service was majorly slacking due to it. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Excellent food. Amazingly customer-oriented owners and employees. Some really interesting food options I've never seen before. Five of us ate dinner and all shaved about how good everything was, and also super reasonable prices.

YUM!! Never a bad meal. Everything is amazing. The owners and staff are the cherry on the cake, they are so fun. There is a great outdoor seating area that is lovely for your friendly pooch . I love the blue cheese burger. But had the Chicken Philly sandwich today and I can't decide which is. better Also the best fries I have ever had.
