Tal-Petut is amazing. Michelin won’t give stars for home style food, but if they did, it would have three. I eat here every time I’m in Malta. No fuss, no tablecloths, just amazingly fresh and beautiful traditional Maltese cuisine. Locally harvested vegetables, rabbit, rooster, fish, pork bellyall of it magically transformed into the most delicious dishes. The restaurant has recently been taken over by Patrick, who is hewing closely to the tradition established by Donald. An amazing place that deserves to be internationally famous as a perfect expression of its terroir. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €45–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A really great ‘field to fork’ type restaurant. A simply beautiful fresh selection of Meze were presented to us. Each confidently explained. We were then presented with a plate of vegetables, each as if from the best of home cooks in the best possible sense. The main courses, 6 were carefully explained .. we were asked to choose 3 that arrived in a 3 plate dish to try each. Than pudding in the same vein. Such a great find .. excellent service and friendly staff .. who were proud of their restaurant! The table was a little large .. it had to be with all the food I guess!
