I wanted to have a late lunch with an omnivore friend on Monday (at 2 a.m.). There are not too many places in Biel that have vegan options and are open on Monday, especially for late lunch. We went to Crêperie Bach Buck, who we found on Happy Cow. I went for the Thai vegan Crêpe option and it was delicious and the size was generous. It was a pleasant surprise!
Apart from the explanation of the literary vegan on their website, there are no signs of what is vegan. the content list is quite clear and shows over six salty vegan options (in a separate vegetarian section) and almost 20 sweets that they need to confirm with their server.
They employ students there whose experience is thus very poor in restaurant service: everytime we go there, we had to wait a long time before they come and take your order (even when there are 3 persons around in the restaurant so we had to stand up and go reach them (a catastrophy when you have to do this in restaurants... Food and drink is average quality, but lots of choices to compensate. Environment is always noisy due to family bringing kids there, so avoid going with couples if you want a romantic ambiance.
You can get a vegan crepe and apply it to any of the fillings, sweet and hearty. Nice Rooibos tea. Open on Sunday, which seemed a rare find. No milk alternative. Your crepes are not particularly fillable.
