Black River Valley Pub - Bessemer

Such a cute cozy spot, perfect after a day of skiing. We both had the Friday fish fry, I had the grilled whitefish (we were told it comes from lake Superior weekly and it was delicious), my husband had the fried cod. Both were great. He also had the pine ones which are these delightful fried mash potato balls, so good! Prices were really reasonable and the portions were big. The older couple who I assume were the owners were both very kind and made us feel welcome.

This place has the best food out of all the places around here they also have friendly service on my birthday all the staff and people in the restaurant singed happy birthday to me a moment I will remember forever

Me 3 friends arrive at 7:54pm, walk in, everyone looks at us, the server comes up to us says their no longer serving, more than an hour before close everyone has fresh food drinks in their plates hands. I asked, food drinks? She replied, not serving at all. As we left , she turns the open sign off. So sketch. Keep your bad vibes.

We went because it was close to our cabin we rented. After being brought to our table by our hostess, we were told it would be at least an hour to an hour and a half to get food, and if we wanted something quicker, we should leave. We said, That 's fine. we wanted some drinks and pizza to go. Then, when our waitress came to take our order, she let us know she couldn 't take a booze order because she was too young and they didn 't have time to get it anyway. Thank goodness a very nice gentleman came up and asked what we wanted and got it. All this time, all we wanted was pizza to go and a quick drink. They forgot us after we ordered and we sat waiting for our pizza which came out cold. Pizza wasn 't very good. I don 't usually give bad reviews. Figure everyone has bad days. But the lady sitting us was very rude.

Very hard working people. Arrive early if you want a seat. Food is delicious!
