The Lunch Cafe - Berkley

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, as I've been visiting this restaurant for several years now, and it has truly become my favorite spot. Since I work nearby, it's incredibly convenient for me to call in and pick up takeout for myself and my colleagues. The food is straightforward but homemade, and you can really tell that they care about the quality of what they serve. Even on their busiest days, they manage to be efficient while offering friendly service. My top picks are the fruity chicken salad pack and the cooked salad, and all of their soups are fantastic! The prices are also very reasonable, if not quite affordable, which is especially appreciated given the rising costs of everything these days. Thank you, TLC!

Long overdue review as I have visited this place for a few years, but it is my absolute favorite. I work nearby, so it's easy for me to call and pick up in a take-out lunch order for me and/or employees. The food is simple, but is homemade and you can say that they really care about the quality of what they serve. Even on their busiest days, they are efficient and provide friendly service. Best lunch spot in the Berkley/Southfield/Royal Oak area! With its delicious homemade food and the incredibly friendly owners and staff, we find ourselves ordering from here at least twice a week at the office. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

I could tell the salad was freshly made, as it was prepared from a whole head of lettuce rather than pre-packaged. The salad itself was delicious, featuring fresh ingredients and a delightful dressing. The chili was served hot and bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced. I appreciated how the employees chatted with customers about their morning—it really added to the welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Got 3 veggies options: the veggies panini grill, jalapeño poppers, and caprese. Panini grill was great, not spicy but the side of Sriracha mayo helped. Jalapeno poppers were alright, just a cheesy sandwich with jalapeños. Caprese was really good, house vinegarette was delicious. Lots of cool and funny signs inside and friendly service!
