Pingvinen - Bergen

I really enjoyed trying the traditional Norwegian food here. Portion sizes are pretty big. I tried 2 dishes and a ginger beer and was very happy with my dinner.

We arrived at the restaurant with a group of eight, we didn't expect them to be able to seat us because it is a small restaurant. But to our surprise there was a table free and it seated exactly 8 people, the waiter told us this normally doesn't happen but we were lucky. I had the pan seared cod and I absolutely loved it, but somebody in our group had the potato dumplings and didn't really like it but tased my fish and instantly love the fish. The waiters were very nice.

Terrific final meal for our Scandinavia trip. Great authentic food and the atmosphere was really great. You definitely need a reservation, but it is worth it. They had great beer options and the food was delicious. The meatballs were great but the wolffish was my favorite. Great food in Bergen.

Been here in early July. We ordered the typical meatballs with vegetables and the whale with vegetables. Actually meatballs didn’t convinced me so much, whereas we were both surprisingly amazed by the meat whale.The vegetables were fine. The service was good. The bill was a bit high but we knew what we had to pay as the prices were shown clearly in the menu. It’s a typical Norwegian restaurant. I recommend it but actually not so much for the meatballs

A place recommended by my host. I got to try Norwegian cuisine. I’m personally not a fan of Norwegian food so much, but food wise it’s fine and a nice pub!
