El Gordo Bendigo

During a recent journey from Melbourne to Bendigo, my husband and I stumbled upon the charming El Gordo cafe nestled in a picturesque laneway. It was a delightful find! The staff welcomed us with warmth and friendliness, guiding us through an intriguing menu filled with tempting options. I opted for the shredded lamb with quinoa, hummus, and salad, which was delicious in every way. My husband chose the chicken burger, and it was equally impressive and satisfying. If only this little gem were in Melbourne, we would definitely be regulars! I highly recommend paying a visit; you won’t be disappointed.

I stopped by for a coffee and a toastie today, and my husband accidentally dropped his toastie on the floor. They replaced it for him right away. The service was excellent, and the staff was really friendly. Their chai latte is also quite delicious!

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience! Our friendly young waiter, Harry, guided us newbies through the Spanish menu, explaining tapas and suggesting we try the Patatas bravas, which were simply delicious. We followed that with the Racione options: almond milk poached and shredded chicken served on quinoa with yogurt and pea tendrils, as well as a scrumptious lamb dish that melted in our mouths. We wrapped up our meal with the best coffees, all served with a smile and engaging conversation. I highly recommend this restaurant; it was truly one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. The prices were reasonable, and the service was top-notch! A perfect 10/10! Cheers to Harry and the owners of this wonderful café—may you continue to thrive in Chancery Lane!

OMG! i just love this place so much : The renovations look fantastic, and i just love the funky vibe of the cafe. The waiting staff are just so friendly and welcoming (and remember my drink order as soon as they see me! The soy chai latte is to die for, and everything i have ever had off the menu is amazing! From the slow cooked specialties, soups, salads and gorgeous baguettes: i just love it all!! Topped off with one of the fabulous sweets, a visit to El Gordo is so worth it!!

Delicious food. Great coffee. Lovely service. I highly recommend checking it out.
