The chefs are amazing hands down some of the best people I've ever met. The quality of the food is phenomenal. Regardless of the situation when you walk in well worth the wait and always greeted with a smile. Well done tomo!!
Overall very polite and friendly staff, everything is clean, their lychee sake is very yummy, and it is difficult to not admire their bamboo wall. The sashimi is fresh, I did not partake in the seared salmon nigiri, but my parents who were with me said it was delicious; everything was also very nicely plated. It was a great experience and recommend it to anyone craving some sushi!
Met people for what we thought was going to be a Japanese dinner in Bend last night. Let me begin by saying my husband is part Japanese and we eat Japanese at least twice a week. First off there was a very confusing menu from which to order. You weren't able to order standard Japanese dinners (sashimi dinner for example) so ordered from a confusing list of rather expensive rolls. By the way this restaurant is pretty expensive. The nigiri came with some sauce which to someone who eats sushi is an anathema since the whole point is to taste the fish. The fish itself was quite good. My husband ordered the chicken udon which he said had no vegetables. He is not a big veggie eater so for him to say there was a paucity of veggies is really saying something. I realize the new owners are trying what I believe is a Hawaiian theme but trust me, it's not working. Don't waste your time or money.
I JUST walked in, was never greeted, I asked multiple times for an estimate wait time for a single person with not even an estimated time. To top things off as I was standing at the corner of the bar, their heavy wooden sign fell against my arm with only an insincere apology after I spoke the words that hurt . I 've been here before where service is decent but never good enough for a review and not bad enough for a review but this was too much. No greetings, no estimated wait time, and the most insincere apology from your pathetic wait staff. The sushi is not worth the cost, and the service is definitely not worth another visit even when they do half off sushi. I 'll drive across town to get a roll now.
Our waiter Keith was great. It was our first time trying them out. We just ordered the Sugar Daddy roll and two hand rolls. They were delicious. We'll have to go again when we're more hungry and try more of what's on the menu.
