We ordered Stir-Fried string beans, vegetables with tofu, vegetarian Singapore fried rice noodles, and sweet fried rice. We also tried the jasmine tea served in a vintage teapot. The string beans were crispy and flavorful, especially when paired with their hot sauce and cooling oil. The Singapore rice noodles were delicious and packed with a variety of vegetables. The fried rice was satisfying and the sweet tofu dish was hearty with plenty of vegetables and tofu. We will definitely return to try more of their menu offerings.
The restaurant's kitchen combines Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Hakka styles, with a leaning towards Cantonese. The service was not great due to the high volume of takeout orders. Despite making a reservation, our table was given away to another group who arrived just before us. We only had to wait 10 minutes for a new table. The food was decent, offering a variety of dishes from Cantonese and Taiwanese cuisines. Prices are on the higher side for Bellevue, so it may be worth skipping this restaurant.
The only Chinese restaurant in Washington that is reminiscent of Hawaiian Chinese cuisine, with the owner even speaking a few words in Hawaiian. It exudes aloha and mahalo, and the food is "ONO" (delicious). I was amazed by how fantastic it was - I would definitely return because they recognized and catered to my Hawaiian background. I ordered the crispy chicken with chili sauce, shrimp siu mai, and of course the "Hawaii style cake noodle" with crispy gau (a dish I had to travel far just to try) and it did not disappoint. It was so good I could have cried! For those in Hawaii looking for authentic Chinese food, Hakka House is the place to go.
Great food! they have a selection of approx. 20 dimsum and at weekends have only yo tiao (Chinese fried donuts with soy milk) together with congee (Chinese porridge). also have regular dishes that are good and about dozens of lunch specialties M-F 11-2:30 clock. highly recommended!
We tried take out and it took a bit of waiting, probably done there are a few takeout orders ahead of us and patrons dining in.The food is yummy and different than the usual Chinese food. There are also small plates of dim sum.Price is not cheap but inline with other restaurants in the area.
