Moonlight Cakes - Bedford

Gosh it pains me to write this because I've seen some of Moonlight's beautiful pieces and their cake used to be so good, but I agree the quality has gone significantly downhill. The vanilla buttercream is cloyingly sweet, I literally had a toothache after eating a piece. By contrast, the chocolate cake and buttercream were so lacking in sugar and awfully bitter that I couldn't have more than two bites. The white chocolate raspberry cake was okay, but honestly a certain Bundt chain has a much better version. I got a custom cake for my birthday and I am incredibly disappointed. My text to my husband was that it literally looked like it was from Nailed It. The ears were cracked and bumpy logs of solid fondant that were completely disproportionate from the face of the alpaca it was supposed to be modeled after. I literally laughed when I saw it. I wasted $100 and my one birthday request on this. Also, 4 cupcakes for $17 might be worth it if the cupcakes were sizeable like you get at other cupcake shops. These are standard size pans that you make at home. It really is a bummer to write this because everyone we worked with was so nice, it makes the cake that much more disappointing.

OMG when I first tried the birthday themed cupcake, it was outstanding the bottom of the cupcake was so good, I almost gave it the walk, also the Icing was so sweet witch is what I have my sweet tooth for. For all of the amazing service too 5 stars!

We will never buy another cake anywhere else! I accidentally put the wrong date for our cake pick-up and the staff was SO accommodating. They scrambled to make sure we were taken care of, we cannot thank them enough! The cake was delicious and beautiful! Thank you so much for making my mother-in-laws day so special.

This place is a hidden gem!! cakes are so delicious. i got the (idk the names) red velvet flavor and white chocolate raspberry ones. customer service was also very attentive and super sweet. will definitely come back!

If you want your teeth to rot as you eat their cupcake icing then be my guest. I love sweets! I don't know if I have ever found something I have ever said was two sweet! I thought it might have been a mistake so I tried another one 2 days later. I got a mixed half dozen from someone of my birthday, so plenty to try! The cake part was light and fluffy, but did not match the sweet and rich icing. The worst part was the icing was just so sweet that I have no clue what the flavors were. Of the 6 cupcakes the only two I knew what the flavors were the double chocolate ones that my dad purposely got me. Usually the decorations give you some indication, but for upscale cupcakes, these certainly didn't. I looked on the website and found out the flavors and the first one I ate was Sweet Salty, but it was more like SWEET SWEET! The caramel had no salt.What really bothers me is my dad wanted to do something nice for me on my birthday. He doesn't have the money to buy this stuff and it was wasted money. I had no interest in trying the others. The first one should have been the last one! That sugar in the icing made me feel faint. Moonlight Cakes is trying to turn the world apparently into diabetics!
