フィードバックを提供するIt's a small restaurant located in front of the Town Hall. Were it not for the sticky floors, it would have been charming. The outdoors tables are too noisy being directly on the main road to the town. The food is tasty. We tried the four-course meal and there was an incredible lot of good food that we could not finish, even though we were really hungry. Acceptable prices.
We started with the tabbouleh which was just okay, really tasteless. I then had the cous cous with chicken, which, again, was lacking in flavor. My boyfriend had a tagine, which also needed to be spiced up so he asked for some harissa, which unfortunately didn’t add much to the dish. The atmosphere is very beautiful & the service is attentive. I just wish the dishes had more flavor, quite bland to what we are accustomed to in other Moroccan restaurants.
The reviews were good so we decided to try Le Petit Darkoum but apart from the warm hospitality I'm afraid I have tasted better Moroccan dishes. The lamb tagines were piping hot but lacked flavour and spices, the speciality bread was very yeasty.
I have known this place for years. Every time we find ourselves in beauleau we call in. The food seams to get better, like a good wine i am sure it improves with age. All else stays the same at this restaurant as the menu and decor is a constant, but hey why change what works, and it does work very well.
I wanted to go to this restaurant for several reasons, not least because I had passed it so many times and it looked like one of those quaint small finds that serves authentic and well priced ethnic foods. I am sure it does. However, I will now never know as I have made a policy not to return. Why is that? Because I called in twice without a reservation and found the reception on both occasions to be luke warm and very unaccommodating. The first time I felt they were overburdened and could see that the small number of tables were booked. The second time they had tables and had obviously kept two for regulars. I turned up with a friend and was told that they were booked. Later that evening I bumped into a friend who said she had been given a table fifteen mins after we were turned away and she had not had a reservation but was a very regular regular. Not so accommodating to tourists I should think. That and the fact that the interior is a bit musty have made my mind up on the affair. Nope, cannot comment on the food though I have heard good and bad reviews, but can state that the welcome could do with some finesse.
