Dotzer Restauration - Bayreuth

We were taken here by friends after the opera it was excellent so we returned the following night at a normal time on our own and the food was as good. Their gnocchi with truffles is to die for. Their steak is tender and done with chanterelle mushrooms in a delicious sauce. We drank an excellent pink Prosecco and local white wine both of good quality. A great gastronomic experience.

Lunchtime special has been very good on all the occasions that my husband and I went.Unbelieable value. Last week, a starter salad with an impressive dressing, duck breast(Could have been a mite crispier- but full of flavour) with potato dumpling well rounded orange sauce and red cabbage.Sweet was choc and fruit home made parfait- tasty,

We ate on a weekday night, so it was not crowded. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes but emphasizes steak and Italian dishes. We started with antipasti that was attractively presented and tasted as you would expect something that took careful preparation. Our meals were the same, attractive to look at and better to eat. The wine selection was sufficient and had several that you rarely see. Our red was also excellent. There was no room for dessert when the time came. While we were very pleased with the food and thought the restaurant above average in its decor, the prices were a bit steep. With that in mind, we still recommend Dötzer enthusiastically.

Sonntagabend, Standardmenü, insgesamt im Restaurant 5 Gäste (inklusive uns beiden).Essen war absolut super, Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend.Negativ:- Austausch des Hauptganges gegen einen anderen, 60 Cent günstigeren führte zu einem Aufpreis von 2,50 €, was wir angesichts der Zahl der Gäste lächerlich fanden.- wenn man einen Martini als Aperitif bestellt, meint man im Allgemeinen den Cocktail, nicht den parfümierten Wein aus der Flasche (Minimum wäre eine Nachfrage gewesen)- der Broccoli war total zerkocht.

Unser Sonntagsmenu mit Feldsalat und Schinken, Krenfleisch vom Angus Rind mit frisch geriebenem Meerrettich sowie die kleine Schoko-Kirsch-Tarte waren ausgezeichnet: Zubereitung, Geschmack, Präsentation dieser Speisen waren nicht zu überbieten. Lediglich über die Größe der zwei Bayreuther Klöße könnte man diskutieren.Auch der Service war erste Klasse.
