The Keg Steakhouse Rie - Barrie

Prime rib was 50% fat 10% sinew and pretty tough. Don't remember the last time I had to chew the hell out of a rare prime. Asked for medium came closer to rare... WHERE IS THE BAKED BRIE?!Caesar sure got small since last year...same with the French onion soup.. 6oz bowl maybe? I cannot believe the brie was removed from the menu. Mash was gluey and almost cold.Server was good.Wife's food looked good.

We always look forward for our dates night at the keg, but not this time. Out of all restaraunt as in Barrie we chose to come to the Keg for our 4 year anniversary. We were very excited to come, but unfortunately left dissatisfied still hungry! Our steaks were very fatty way to chewy. My jaw was hurting from chewing. The pieces wouldn’t break down enough for me to safely even swallow. Also, the extra upgraded veggies I ordered were not cooked/ Luke warm. Our server also forgot our bread. It was clearly very busy the music was very loud. The server was very polite nice however. As a steak house we were disappointed- definitely not what we paid for or hoped for.

Waitress was amazing I don't remember her name unfortunately but she was great. Food was good, the steaks ordered at the table were cooked perfectly and the chicken was seasoned very well. Only downside for me is it's a bit dark in the restaurant but it's not really an issue. Would go again.

The Keg is supposed to be an upscale restaurant however it does not deliver. The very loud music does not fit. Thank you to the staff who, although they had difficulty hearing us, they were wonderful. They also allow children which creates a less enjoyable atmosphere. I would suggest they not allow children after a certain time like other fine dining establishments. The food is fantastic but this does not make up for the loud and sardine packed restaurant. I would definitely pick somewhere else to have a much more enjoyable, adult meal.

Food is always consistent and good. The spot itself is a beautiful restaurant but the music is way too loud and feels like we are dining in a nightclub. The disheartening experience is always the service staff (Cooper, Matt, Sara to name a few). Service really lacks here. We have dined here 5 times in the last 6 months for different celebrations and events and the service is not great. We get better service at Harveys.
