Becontree Tandoori

I recently had the most delicious and tender chicken at this restaurant. The naan bread was excellent and it brought back my passion for food and life. It was truly a satisfying and soul-nourishing meal.

We've lived local to this place for 20 years but for some reason never tried it til this week. Our loss, it's a local business we should have been supporting. The food is well prepared and service is good. Obvs no authenticity involved, this is British curry but it's a school of cooking worthy of respect after nearly 60 years imho. They are not licensed at the moment, fine by me but if they want to carry on as a restaurant as opposed to take out only, they probably ought to rethink that. If you can eat your curry without the traditional British accompaniment of beer, I recommend this place. And it's really cheap as well.

This is a small restaurant but the food never disapoints. The service is great and the staff are always welcoming. there is a good selection of food on offer at quite reasonable prices. they do have a buffet offer on certain days.

Oh my goodness, this restaurant is extremely slow. We visited for a family member's birthday and arrived at 6:25pm, with only 2 other people in the place. Despite ordering our food by 6:30pm, we were still waiting for dinner by 7:30pm. The takeout orders seemed to be prioritized over dine-in customers. After a long wait, the food turned out to be only average. Additionally, it took nearly as long to receive the bill as it did to get our meals.

I wanted to eat something before a gig at the Roundhouse but all the restaurants and takeaways around Upney and Beacontree were pretty shabby. I was about to take a sandwich at the Coop when I saw this Indian restaurant. It seemed to be nothing special but very clean. I made a good choice! The food was excellent and the staff very professional. Very good khorma dishes! The value for money is outstanding! You should definitely try it!
