フィードバックを提供するThe five of us came to this attractive, modern decor restaurant for lunch while exploring Barbaresco. It had been recommended by an acquaintance who lives in Barbaresco. The ambiance is upscale for a “osteria” but the atmosphere is comfortable. The food and service both were excellent.
The atmosphere and the restaurant itself is truly something else, hearing and reading only good stuff about Campamac I must say; I’m quite disappointed. The lacking of informing customers about prices for today’s special, somewhat slow in checking in during the dinner. Customers with the aura of paying more got more attention. The food has somewhat of a bland taste and was lacking as well salt as pepper. When asking for the bill, we waited for over 20 min, just to pay. The sommelier saw that we had placed the card on the bill at least 4 times, and two of her colleagues saw it as well, it was first after I asked to pay the third time we actually got to pay. For this type of restaurant and these type of prices, unfortunately for us, it’s a disappointment.
Molecular gastronomy is one thing. We have been to several 3 star Michelin restaurants. Some have been playful and surprised us while others have been too occupied with making dishes look like something they are not and forgetting all about tastefulness to the ordinary man in the street that are asequally entitled to being a food lover as the well known critic. Well to cut to the core this place has everything else but experimental food. It is playful still but here you get the steak, the eggplant parmigiana and the prosciutto. You get the tasty incredible Italian food served in superb surroundings with the best service. This place is just amazing. There was plenty knowledge about the food meat and wine that was more than we could ask for. The best part you can buy whatever you see and eat! The plates were really cute and if we hadn’t stocked up on wine after visiting the cellar I am pretty sure we would have bought them too! This will be my nr.1 restaurant for quite a while I am afraid. It’ll haunt me as it’ll be a while until we are back since there is so many places we need to visit first. But in the meantime I’ll live with the memory of the best tomahawk steak I have ever had! The waiters are ALL super nice and friendly. It was amazing! Just go you won’t be disappointed. Gourmet tavern classified as a beautiful michelin location without doubt, choice of extra-large wines and with fine wines. various menus, we chose before among which the tajarin to the ragù and the goose pears and as according to a cut. according to our geese, we did not find all this flavor in the dishes. in short, a little disappointed given the wait that gives you when you enter the premises. high prices, but all around a restaurant with michelin tags can not be less.
