Le Gourmet - Bapaume

We had a group booking for lunch on our tour through the area. We received a friendly welcome, the wine flew free and lunch was served efficiently. The food was a good local cuisine, nothing special but tasty anyway and everything in a very cozy atmosphere.

Last year I took a group to eat in the restaurant. So excellent it was, and the staff so helpful, I rebooked for this year. Not only did we eat there, but all rooms booked and stayed for 2 nights. In both nights we ate a la carte. The food was partly excellent and it was great to have 2 nights to make sure we could eat a good selection from the menu. Rooms are good, simple, but immaculately clean and comfortable. Maybe thicker towels would be appreciated. Such friendly people, so helpful, friendly and efficient.

We (father and son) went out on a chilly Monday evening for a small bite to eat and - though our preference would have been Pizza -ended up at Le Gourmet (for lack of alternatives). We were pleasantly suprised by quality and value of menu and friendliness of service. Definetively an alternative to restaurants in Albert or Peronne, when visiting the Somme battlefields.

Menu has several options of table d'hôtel as well as a a good choice of a la carte items. I tried several different starters, main courses and desserts and all were delicious and ample. Good wine list, too. All round excellent value and good service

This restaurant was patronised by local people which is always a good sign. Food and service were good.
