I felt bad for the staff because they seemed understaffed. However, the food was excellent and reasonably priced!
We arrived for our reservation to find that only 3 or 4 tables were occupied, while the rest were all piled with dirty dishes. It took 15 minutes for us to receive our water, and when we finally got it, 2 out of the 3 glasses were completely cracked and leaking. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed as she was being pursued by other guests wanting to settle their bills and leave. Given all of these issues, we decided not to stay for the food—there were many signs indicating disorganization and that they were short-staffed.
I grew up in the Southwest and have eaten Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Southwestern cuisine from just about every kind of establishment from taco stands to 5-star, famous chef-owned restaurants. I found the food at R&R just so-so. It can't compare to most of the moderately priced places in towns like Houston, Dallas, and Santa Fe and it doesn't come close to the best of the places where I have dined.
The service was a little slow, but the meals came fast and hot. I have shrimp fajitas. yum!
