Underbar - Ballarat

Dinner was absolutely loved here. The flavors were all interesting and the dishes were very imaginative. I had no other experience I could really compare with. From the outside it does not look that way, but on the inside it is really cozy and good moods. It is an experience that everyone should try!

I dined at this restaurant last weekend, and the only word I can use to describe the experience is phenomenal. The dishes were both unique and innovative, yet they managed to feel simple and comforting at the same time. The wine pairings were particularly intriguing, featuring many unexpected options that paired perfectly with the food. What’s even more impressive is that the team selects these pairings just before the service. I can’t wait to return!

Excellent culinary experience; this restaurant is equipped with Australia's best. The care and attention placed in every detail is evident from the decor (including the sideboard with carefully selected spirits, which the cook describes passionately in detail), the music, the presentation of each dish and matched wine by the cook and sommelier, to the exquisite dishes. It is definitely worth chatting with Chef Derek as he works his magic in the kitchen, especially where he sources and food for his ingredients with his wife and daughter. Service is on-point; efficient, but warm and inconspicuous. No doubt that the word will soon be spread at national level.

I had a fantastic culinary experience at Ballarat's only Michelin Star-rated restaurant, and it's easy to see why it deserves this recognition. While there were a couple of courses that weren't quite to my personal taste, I still recommend this dining experience wholeheartedly. It should definitely be on everyone's must-visit list. The array of culinary delights offered here is truly exceptional and hard to find outside a major city. I might be a bit biased in praising the chef, but they deserve it—this was not only a remarkable meal but also an entertaining experience. Well done!
