Old World Bakery & Deli - BALFOUR

I bought some fresh-baked bread and it was incredible! I also got some lemon and fruit squares as a special treat. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CHARMING BAKERY!

We purchased some drinks and when I asked for some brown sugar, they poured in a live ANT with it. Completely disgusting.

We needed to catch the 8 a.m. ferry out of Balfour, and couldn't get a good breakfast at our hotel in time. So when we arrived, and saw that there was a bakery that was open really early (it says 5 a.m.! , we knew we were in luck. We got some delicious sausage rolls and some brownies, and boy did they hit the spot. We saw they serve coffee, but that's all we could get from our hotel, and so we didn't try the coffee here. Thanks for helping us on our trip!

Unfortunately very stale cinnamon buns, bland taste and one raisin in one. The rest was very average, lemon tart and cookies.

While waiting for the ferry to arrive we wandered around the area checking out the local businesses. Not many were open but found this little bakery and of course who can resist a bakery. They had plenty of fresh pastries on hand and we enjoyed every bite of the raspberry pastries. Rich and full of fresh raspberry flavour. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
