フィードバックを提供するWe had intended to have an early dinner at 18:15 on a weekday in April, but in this very small place all 6ish tables were taken already. We then decided to order pizza for take-away. The prices of these pizzas is utterly amazing, in comparison to UK prices (the cheapest from €4 up to €9). The choice of vegetarian toppings is okay - though not a reason to make a detour for this place. However, the house specialty - Pizza da Gudio - _is_ truly special: artichokes, garlic, and, you could have guessed it (not!), lettuce and cucumber. Sounds weird, but it works for me.Sadly, the overall pizza taste isn't that great. They seem to use a kind of white-cheesy sauce as their base; instead of simply using tomato sauce, sprinkle cheese on top and then add oregano. I'm not sure why this Pizzeria doesn't believe in this approach, but uses this white-cheesy sauce and tomato puree. Also, it seems that some ingredients are not fresh (e.g. tinned mushrooms). If you don't order take-away, but eat here: it's self-service. You order at the counter, and once your order is ready you collect it from there. You help yourself to cutlery, and a glass... Some people find the interior cosy, "culty" and inspiring - to me it looks like someone tried, many years ago, to put as many different things into a tight space, and let dust settle. You will know whether that's attractive to you, or not.
Our friends who lived in Oberursel brought us here to this pizzeria on a cloudy Friday on June 3 2016. It's one of their regular joints. It's a quirkly restaurant filled with all kinds of antiques, and you have to queue up to order your pizza. It is a great family restaurant with good Italian food (a nice break from German food).Good bathrooms and free wifi as well.
Awesome place, Pizza amazing, atmosphere there is no comparison. Price is great, this place has his charme, you like it or not i did!!
I am still confused about Da Guido, as it appeared they are 2 separate operations right next to each other, one is a simple pizza kitchen that dishes out basic and good pizzas, some pasta and salad dishes, a lot of them for take out. This is also a self serve affair. I do believe in the main house next door is a fancier menu and there is wait staff. So, this review is about the pizza place. Love their pizza, though some of their ingredients come from cans, where fresh would have made a huge difference (i.e. mushrooms), but the taste and the crust are great. Prices are very fair. Selection is good, but nothing fancy.
Our hotel host told us to choose between the vater and the sohn restaurants that were next to each other. we were early and that was a good thing because the place was busy fast. we had redini and lasagne and both were good. the pizzas that pass and the number of locals who pick up their pizza made it clear that they also produce good pizza. Owners/arm were friendly and funny. there were many things to look at and wonder. not that it takes a long time to get her meal.
