We ate in the lounge bar which was warm and welcoming. The homemade soup was delicious and both main meals were plentiful, beautifully presented and really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Some really original touches in the meal made it an evening to remember. We're looking forward to our next visit.

The service was excellent; the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we didn’t find the food to be exceptional, and the portion sizes were on the smaller side. I ordered the lamb, and my partner had the steak pie, and we both felt there was more gravy than meat. Since we had read positive reviews before making our reservation, we were expecting more and left feeling a bit disappointed.

The restaurant had a very quiet atmosphere since we were the only diners there. I was not pleased to find cobwebs on the table; it gave a rather unappealing impression, even though the table was set. The food was good, but the gammon steak I ordered was the strangest I’ve ever encountered. I couldn’t quite understand the portion size, and it was quite tough to bite into.

The menu offers an excellent selection with something for everyone. The food was delicious and tasted freshly prepared. The staff were wonderful. It takes us an hour to get here, but it's definitely worth the trip.
