John Christ Winery - Avon Lake

I used to go to this restaurant years ago. The wine had a high sulfite content and was overly sweet. The bottle prices were quite affordable, and the ambiance was pleasant, resembling a chalet or farmhouse. It overlooks a golf course, which enhances the scenery. The locals often visit, and they are friendly. However, the experience would be much improved with some better wine options.

We stopped in here last night after dinner. My fiancé always talks highly of it and we both love their special blend wine! Truth be told I’m not a huge wine gal- if it’s sweet and practically grape juice- I’m all in! When we arrived it wasn’t too busy (which I love) however there were guests and I loved the atmosphere! Everyone was enjoying themselves and it had such a nice vibe! There was live music playing and it was such a cozy feel. My fiancé ordered a glass of special blend and I went with the red sangria! It had blackberry wine and peach with apples floating in it. Delicious! I couldn’t chose between that and the fruit roll up. We enjoyed our drinks and left. I would love to come back to maybe host a little party- as I saw a party going on when we were there, actually two parties!

Nice cozy atmosphere. San Gria was good. Also the wine based mixed drinks are very good.

I love it here. I love their fruit wines, I love bringing in a little dish to share with friends, I love the outside area with picnic tables. It's a perfect vibe

Pinot and Niagra were ok otherwise a typical Ohio wine tasting. Nothing was bad, but guests from Arizona didn't feel the need to take any home. Server was busy but good. We brought home one bottle of Special blend, which we have been buying for years and giving as Christmas presents.
