Veranda Bistro - Avon

What a hidden gem this restaurant is! Colin at the bar was incredibly attentive to all our needs. I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10, whether you're looking for a relaxed evening or a celebratory dinner. If you arrive during happy hour, I highly recommend the surf and turf, as well as the calamari and chicken salad. I have a feeling this will become my new favorite spot.

Veranda consistently accommodates special requests, such as outdoor seating. We visited to celebrate my 50th birthday and my sister's birthday, and everything was simply outstanding! With a party of eight, everyone enjoyed their meals, and our server was excellent! We can't wait to return soon!

The atmosphere on the back patio was lovely, with great music that was at the perfect volume for conversation. The food was enjoyable overall, though the only downside was an overcooked steak. I had ordered it medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well. Aside from that, we had a nice, casual dinner at the Veranda.

Came here for dinner and it was delicious food, and a beautiful location set back from the road. Decided we would come a second time for dinner before seeing the Orchestra. I called in advance to make a reservation, saying I wanted a reservation for 2 at 4:30pm. They replied that they “don’t serve lunch”, I said ok what time does dinner service start? 4pm was told. Tried again to make a reservation stating the time and the person couldn’t seem to understand that 4:30pm dinner reservation meant just that. Went ahead and showed up for dinner, they asked if we had a reservation. I explained that I tried to make one on the phone, and they replied sorry we have a large party coming in later and they couldn’t “fit us in”. The parking lot had about 5 cars in it. Saw no guests in sight, and standing at the hostess desk were 5 people looking bored. Will not be returning due to poor service.
