フィードバックを提供するI come here quite often, it’s by far my favorite taco place! I LOVE the Pastor tacos. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, it is outdoor seating so just remember that when it comes to weather! They are always busy because they are the best but they are fast and so good. Must try if you’re near downtown Austin!Food: 5/5
Any review asking for more flavor/ pizzazz or a ferris wheel of amenities to these Tacos does not understand what a place like Trancas is. Las Trancas is a staple of great actual Mexican food. It’s not bougee and its not trying to appeal to the US taste bud. They respect the flavor of the meat and what it does for the ancestral and indigenous cornerstone that is the Taco. For a lot of Norteños this is the taco, in all its splendor. I feel very privileged to have a place that doesn’t over-blow the concept and is willing to provide that to an Austenite in such an inviting location. NGL when a majority of Austinites love a taco place it’s usually a gimmick, the place is geared toward an American audience and misses out on core values that can make a food taste like home. All in all, I hope this spot gives to you what it always gives to me everytime i go… Las Trancas tiene mucho amor, mucha madera, y lo mas importante que eso; muchooo sabor p.s. The Campechano is where it’s at ?
After trying many of the taco trucks on East Cesar Chavez, I can confidently say that this is the best one. My taco of choice is the Barbacoa which is out of this world good. The Cabeza and Tripad tacos are also very yummy! Today was my first time having a burrito (Barbacoa) and it was yummy as well. The size of it was fair, not too small, but also not big. The Tortas are also very tasty here and the Hawaiiana was great! At a minimum stop by here for some of the best tacos in Austin!
They told us it was the best taco place in Austin but it was a bit below our expectations. The tacos where good but definitely not the best. The best tacos though where taco de lengua and carnitas. I recommend to try them out paired with a mexican soda. Staff is nice as well and place looks really authentic and they have a lot of options.
The tacos are very good but very very simple, literally just the meat, the onions, and the cilantro. I was expecting maybe something with more flavours, but it is still good. The Tacos de tripa and the ones de lengua were amazing. The quesadilla de lengua was very good as well. I also had a jarritos tamarind which I never tried before and was very good. Overall very positive feeling but I was expecting more seeing the other reviews which sold it as the best taco place in Austin.
