Well Cafe - Auroville

The place is in the middle of nowhere, but so peaceful and beautiful .... more perfect place to read a afternoon. we had only the chocolate mousse and it was perfectly so smooth and light. it is a must visit place

The mezze platter is authentic and truly decadent. The hummus is delectable and falafels are too good to miss! They also serve some yummy cheesecake and dessert of the day, so do ask what the special is, for the day. Also a fan of their veggie omlettes.

These ladies were incredibly rude, although they were kind to other customers. I have ordered the same plate called Fusion Plate days in a row after seeing another customer order it. I saw rice, mixed vegetables, and or more falafels on his plate. The next day I ordered the same thing. One of the employees said to order something else on the menu because it will take a while to prepare. I insisted that I wanted the plate. Cross my heart and hope to die; this place serves the best Falafels in the country. A Falafel platter or the Falafel Pita is sure to set you right till dinner. Make sure to get there before pm, because chances are that all the good stuff would have run out by then. The desserts are delicious as well, especially the Chocolate Mousse. Also note that this place closes by pm, so snacking is not an option either. If you are in Auroville, you simply cannot miss eating at Well Cafe.

One of my absolute favorite eateries from Auroville and super close to the Auroville Earth Institute, where we were placed, was this small little outdoor cafe that serves Mediterranean/Lebanese cuisine. After roughly a five minute walk along a winding path from the main road, through the trees, you arrive at a clearing which is Well Cafe. The ambiance here is the wilderness, because there is nothing much except a big, blue plastic overhead shade and a couple of plastic chairs and tables. Run by a bunch of local women, the food here is orgasmic good! If you love a good Hummus and Pita combination or fancy a healthy albeit super tasty salad for a meal, this is the place to be!...read more
