Mezze - Auckland

I find myself thinking about this place quite often. The sauce on the potatoes is simply outstanding—it's a delightful balance of slight acidity and creaminess, with just a hint of spice. The chicken liver pâté is a must-try for me every time; it's consistently simple yet delicious. My experience with the grape soda has been mixed. The first time I ordered it, it was refreshingly sweet and bursting with grape flavor, but on my second and third visits, it seemed off—it didn't taste as fresh. As for the mint tea, it just wasn’t strong enough for my taste. Despite the drink situation, everything else is fantastic, and I keep coming back. I might just have to give up the grape soda, though.

This restaurant has a wonderfully cozy dining room. I absolutely loved their hummus! During my last visit, I ordered the 'lunch plate,' which included haloumi, mushrooms, tomatoes, grilled tomato bread, hummus, and their famous carrots, all paired with a glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and the location is conveniently central.
