La Strada is a great restaurant tucked into Harrah’s casino. Dining with 5 friends, the service was speedy and kind. Our server, Steven, deserves a special shoutout. He was the kindest man in the entire hotel. Steven continuously checked in on our table, taking the time to get to know us. He was incredibly kind and talkative, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Steven is the type of server I look for in a clash restaurant. His service defines the brand and is what La Strada should try to replicate in all of its employees. Aside from the excellent service, the atmosphere was nothing special. There was nothing about it that gave off a feeling of upscale Italian. The food was delicious, yet the portions were far too large. I got the pasta carbonara, and it was mixed in front of me. Though excellent, I found it to be slightly too salty. My friends also commented on the excessive salt present in their dishes. Overall, it is the service that carries La Strada. I think a focus on quality rather than quantity would help the restaurant. I prefer to be wowed by the taste rather than the sheer size of my food.
Worst service ever. Manager a disgrace to anyone in the hospitality industry. Charged for food we didn’t get. Charged $40.99 for sides of pasta that were $15.99. Wouldn’t do separate checks despite it saying 2 checks per table. Took 2.5 hours. No food was served together or in the correct order (meals, salads then appetizers served). No apology. Blamed our table for not using a large party menu, said we shouldn’t have been seated together. I said the hostess should have been aware of the policies and not accommodated then. Just an awful evening. Food we did get was good, however. Oh, but the hostess apparently never checked my party in, causing me to receive an email re-stating the no-show policy— $25/person. Ha! After a horrible experience lasting over 2.5 hours and dealing with the RUDEST manager ever they then wanted to hit me with a $125 no-show fee! What a racket—you should definitely go if you want to wait forever, not get your food, get charged for food you didn’t get and then over-charged for the food you ordered!
We had dinner here two parents, four kids) while staying at the hotel for a convention. The restaurant was nice— good spacing between tables, friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious, though it took about an hour to come to the table. For two of the kids, they asked for “plain” pastas— one with tomato sauce, one with butter. The server said no problem, but when the bill came, they charged us the price for the special pasta $42.99) which was made with shellfish and other special, more expensive ingredients— and more expensive than, for example, getting the same spaghetti and tomato sauce with meatballs which one of the other children got). The server was apologetic when we asked her whether it was a mistake, letting us know that’s what she was told to do by her manager. When we asked to speak with the manager, I found him to be incredibly rude and condescending. He gave multiple incomplete explanations as to why this was the price and that he would not change his mind. None of the explanations made sense and were all given in a rude tone of voice with no apologies. He offered to give us free dessert, which we did not want and were not planning to order due to the late hour. We asked if we could instead have an extra salad or something if he would not reduce the price of the pastas and was offering to comp us another dish, but he refused us that as well. The manager’s behavior and the gross overcharging for plain pastas really put a major damper on what had been a very nice evening up to that point. If you choose to eat here, be prepared for nice food and to be taken advantage of if you ask for any modifications to the way the food is made.
Went for mother's day. Requested a booth. Hostess was very curt and stated that she did not have a booth. No further discussion or explanation was forthcoming. Reservation was made through open table. Was under the assumption that a booth would be available. Wasn't happy about the seating or greeting.
