Mambo Italian Street Food - Atlanta

We enjoyed another delicious meal with great service at Mambo Italian Street Food. The entertainment by Charley truly makes it a unique experience for us. It's what draws us to this establishment as opposed to anywhere else.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I called in a carry out order and when I went to pick up my food at the bar I was ignored and service was not provided to me. I waited 20 mins and then had to wave at the bartender for service even though she was right in front of me deliberately avoiding me. They made it clear that I wasn’t welcomed since I walked in the door, if you are black I would NOT recommend dining in. Although the food isn’t bad the service left a terrible taste in my month. I’m Disgusted! I’m 25 years old male, never left a review on a restaurant until now I’ve never felt racially profiled before until now. I feel obligated to broadcast how terrible I was treated. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE IF YOUR ARE BLACK CLEARLY WE AREN’T WELCOMED.

This was second visit. I had hoped it would be great because it 's so convenient. First visit was just okay so we decided to meet friends for dinner and try again. Won 't be going back. This place needs to decide if it 's going to be a bar or a restaurant or what the heck because clearly it has an identity crises. The live entertainment was loud and not enjoyable, was it karaoke? I 'm not sure but it did not add anything to the ambience. There was a clearly inebriated neon vested person grinding to mustang sally in the middle of the restaurant which again, did not add anything to our $120.00 dinner. The service was not good. We asked for our check and gelato for dessert. After 20 minutes we had to chase down the server for both (there were approx 4 tables occupied in the whole restaurant). This could be a great place, but it 's just not and I don 't think we will be giving it another opportunity.

The lasagna is horrible. The sauce is weak, overly salty and runny. The meatballs have absolutely NO flavor. The Spaghetti Pomodoro(? would have been delicious if they had used more than one tablespoon of sauce for the whole order of spaghetti noodles. I have tried and tried to like this place because the atmosphere is so wonderful and it is on my way home from work but unless you want to sit and just have a drink it is a complete failure...IMHO

Huge menu (could use to be smaller), food was excellent, service a bit slow, ate outside under umbrella, great ambiance. Gelato is the best! Live music was only okay, could probably have done without.
