Chingri - Astoria

The ambiance is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The Thai food here is simply the most delicious and of the highest quality I've ever had. Every few weeks, I find myself craving the Chingri. Wishing you all the best—keep up the great work!

When we were ready to order, we discovered that the noodles for our desired dish were unavailable. We inquired if she could substitute with a different noodle, but she seemed to hesitate, as though it would be too much trouble to check with the chef. I could see her contemplating the request but she still refused to approach him when we pressed her about it. We then asked for more time to reconsider our options, and thankfully, another waiter came by. We made the same request to him, and he efficiently took care of it for us. His service was exceptional, and he is the reason I’m giving this place three stars instead of just one. The appetizer we ordered was good, especially with the accompanying sauces, but both entrées were quite disappointing. The noodles were overly greasy and lacked flavor. The Chingri fried rice suffered similarly, containing only two small pieces of shrimp, and the beef was tough and tasted old. Overall, it was a mixed experience, with some highlights overshadowed by the lackluster service and food quality.

The restaurant offers high-quality food, and the seating area is quite peaceful. We really enjoyed the meals, and my kids liked it as well. I highly recommend this restaurant, although the prices are a bit on the higher side.

The waitress was absolutely lovely, offering us complimentary desserts and discounts! The Thai food was delicious, and overall, we had a wonderful experience.

The food was excellent. I wanted something oily, crunchy, and spicy, and that’s exactly what I got!
