Not much was open on a Monday, so were we glad to see a bakery with an open door! We ordered a chocolate peanut butter oat bar and a chocolate caramel brownie. What a sweet treat on our mural walk! Excellent service as well!
Absolutely delightful pastries! There is a wide selection to choose from, and the service is excellent. The venue is cozy but has a lovely atmosphere. There are a few small tables outside, and you can enjoy a basic coffee there. By the way, if you’re in search of great coffee with various flavors, just grab your pastry and head across the street to Black Cat Coffee. You’ll get the best of both worlds!
We had the pleasure of picking up some pastries and bread in the area. While there are some negative reviews about item availability, my husband and I enjoyed sharing a cinnamon roll and a caramel pear roll. We also chose a bread for making French toast at our campsite. I must say, these pastries are among the best I've ever tasted—exceptionally well-crafted. The laminated dough for the cinnamon rolls was particularly impressive. The bread recommended by a young man at the bakery turned out to be perfect for French toast. We visited when there were plenty of options available and decided to be patient, as good art takes time. I waited in the car with our daughter while my husband went inside, and he noted that the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Small, independent bakeries can be true gems, and Ashland Baking Co is one of them. I had a blueberry Danish, and I still can't stop thinking about the buttery, flaky crust. I will definitely return to try more treats when I'm in Ashland again.
