altitude coffee roastery - Armidale

Lovely coffee shop in the CBD. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. Coffee is great and the White Chocolate / Raspberry muffins are to die for.

Coffee was good but food servings were very small and boring. Had eggs on toast and it was literally two eggs and one piece of toast - no butter, sauce, spinach, sides etc. Hubby had a homemade sausage roll which he did very much enjoy.

Friendly small cafe located near several others. The staff were very friendly, were able to give advice on the single origin coffee available. A small play area is available for children. Also available is roasted coffee to take home, beans or ground. Clean. Nicely set out. Comfy chairs.

Coffee at Altitude with an Attitude. Coffee snobs might like. Food is ...? If you like coffee then I guess you should come here but the staff can be a bit snooty. No less than you get in a city but with less practice.

We are always on the lookout for good coffee and something to satisfy a sweet tooth and a difficult stomach - a hard task - and when you are more than 100kms from home, that's even harder. Having researched TripAdvisor and looked for nomenclature on the takeaway cups of passersby, we were none the wiser until a couple of friendly businessmen gave us the steer in what was ultimately the right direction. This place was friendly-plus, the coffee was sensational and although we can't claim to have given much of the chef's part of the menu a go, the friand I had, complete with chocolate chips, was pretty damned good. I loved the two tiered nature of the customer area and the mixture of seating styles in the space caters for everyone from the dottery old couple that we are, through business types, cool hypsters, girls having a coffee morning and groups up to eight who want to celebrate meeting their business target over brunch. We'll certainly return. Lastly and mentioned only for the purpose of irony, the two businessmen who recommended it were friends from our home town, 100kms down the road. In this case, asking a local let us down!
