Today I found myself in Apex for the first time and was longing to find a non-chain restaurant where to find a Saturday latte. I found Belgian cafe. From its location in a boring stripe shopping center to its parking area opposite sidewalk seats, it does not see how much from outside. However, the interior is clean, well illuminated and designed like a modern café, and the food is top notch. I had a little latte $3.84, an omelet $8.95 and a croissant $2.95. The latte was delicious, but not terribly hot and had much less foam than the standard. What it did was dense and creamy I wish it had been more! The Omelette was a daily special: kale/mushroom/Swiss. I think they used Shiiitake mushrooms that will certainly hit the gourmet index. The eggs were cooked with the typical French approach: unapologetic use of fatty ingredients, served in modest portions. It was about half the size of a typical restaurant served with maybe 2 eggs, but it glittered with butter and tasted like a dream. The croissant had a beautiful texture, with perfect layers and fluffiness and a soft, fluffy interior. On the scale from Paris 10 to Epcot Paris 1 a firm 9.4. The French are very accurate. His superior competitors in the area are Boulted Bread, Guglhupf and La Farm. Many reviews here mention a long waiting period. I came at 11:30 on a Saturday and the line was quite short, but the food took a while. It was pretty full inside. Target for a less busy hour and try to sit inside: the strikingly unpleasant, tiny wooden café chairs almost on the parking lot are the only essential drawback for this beautiful place.
I happened to pass this little cafe...if you blink you will miss it. If I were you I would write down the address right now and make sure you go. I had a slice of quiche that was to die for and they had the most beautiful looking desserts ever. I'm going to make my way back to try their Belgian waffles they look amazing. The only advice I would like to leave for the owners please please please advertise more I think that was the best lunch I've had in about 2 years. Super clean, fantastic food and a nice friendly staff. I'm telling all of my friends and you should be telling all of your friends that this is the most wonderful place again Apex. And they cater!! Fyi I did not get paid for this advertisement.
I love this place! It’s a wonderful change from the typical fast food, chain breakfast locations. The food is great, as is the coffee. It is definitely more of a sit down, relaxed atmosphere, it may take a bit longer but it’s well worth the wait (which really isn’t even that long). The portions are plenty big and I’ve never had an issue with the service, if you’re still hungry grab a delicious pastry!!
My favorite place in Raleigh!! Can't say enough good things.
Very nice breakfast and the staff is great. I had the Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, orange juice, and bread with Swiss cheese. This was a terrific breakfast. It is more money than I typically spend on this amount of food, but the quality was very nice and I left feeling full and happy. I will definitely be going back. It is worth it. Great quality.
